Design approach for the "House of the future" project has been based on attractive interrelations between new building solutions and traditional living conditions, as well as between modern technologies and the exact nature of the human being.

To demonstrate this oppositional circumstances, the project addresses to the topic of the new attitude to the modern lifestyle, public and private spaces, as well as to oppositional features of construction materials.
Reimagination in the site exploitation is the main reason of the proposed project solution. Relations between empty and filled spaces serves to be the key condition which might be the base for the further development of the project.

Two types of spaces

The problematic task of the relation between empty and filled spaces allows looking at the other objective of the modern construction - transformability - from a new angle. We can imagine our houses not as buildings, or structures supposed to be a retreat, but as an empty space which is available to be filled by a different functions and zones, related to the current life period of a person, or a family. All available space is a home, but we can use only a necessary part of it when it is required. This approach gives us the opportunity to keep house in a balanced condition with all spaces effectively used in terms of energy and economy, meanwhile convenient and comfortable for living.
The project realises this concept through the simplicity of forms to demonstrate an ease of the construction process, as well as further transformations. The potential site for the construction is 15 * 30 meters in size utilised for the construction works. It is covered with 5 * 5 meters grid, dividing the plot into 18 equal squares, which serve as the basis for the further elements of the house. Basically, the house structure is spatial wooden framing with each floor 4 meter height. Insulated sandwich panels are used for the walls and slabs.

All living rooms are concentrated on the first floor. So, there are living and dining rooms, three bedrooms, a master bedroom, kids room and a study. Total area of the first floor is 240 square meters, and it occupies around 55% of the available plot area.

The voids between different rooms are available for further additional developing or expanding the existing rooms. Meanwhile, all constructed elements might be disassembled at any time.
One of the most important feature of the project is that 80% of the ground floor space is unused and called garden floor. This area is supposed to be available throughout the whole living cycle of the house, and should be used as a recreational space, divided into public and private zones. Service rooms are located on the ground floor, forming an entrance group. Most of the ground floor area is empty and used as a garden. Total area of the ground floor is 150 square meters.
